Spheres and extrudates In addition to alumina powders, Sasol as a specialties business also offers shaped carriers such as oil-drop spheres, extrudates, and tablets.
A key advantage of Sasol's aluminas is their ability to form excellent supports. This application makes use of the aluminas' ability to peptize in the presence of monoprotic acids. A variety of extrudate properties can be obtained by using different grades of PURAL® and CATAPAL® aluminas and by controlling the formulation and extrusion variables.
